ONE CAT, TWO CATS • New US Edition

The US edition of One Cat, Two Cats my rhyming, lift-the-flap, pop-up, counting book illustrated by Rob Hodgson is published by Nosy Crow today!

Where most counting books stop at ten, One Cat, Two Cats goes to twenty, with each number represented by a characterful cat.

Some spreads, like the one shown below, have flaps for young readers to lift …

… and others feature sturdy pop-ups, like this one.

Here’s a trailer I made for the UK edition.

Having been entered in advance of publication, the US edition is a winner in the Best Board Books category of this year’s GOOD HOUSEKEEPING KIDS’ BOOK AWARDS.

And the UK edition won joint gold in the Best Pre-Schooler Book 3-5 Years category of the JUNIOR DESIGN AWARDS 2025.

Here’s what some reviewers have said about the UK edition:

“A super fun board book, which helps little ones learn to count from 1–20 and is filled with a wonderful array of colourful, characterful cats. The rhyming helps language acquisition in little ones and also supports the learning of numbered sequences. It’s a good size and sturdy, so parents and guardians of toddlers and older babies can feel confident that it has some durability when it’s pulled at, chewed, and ripped, and the flaps and fold-out elements provide an interactive activity, too. “
BOOKTRUST

“The twenty colourful and cavorting cats in this big, beautiful board book will keep little hands busy, eyes on the move, and provide fun on every page! … this joyful, laugh-out-loud counting picture book has plenty of child-appeal and cat-itude! Sturdy flaps, bold artwork and surprising pop-ups reveal the funny felines in lots of silly scenarios! Cat lovers young and old will love getting their paws on this purrfect gift book!”

Dispatch & Delivery

Books will be sent by Evri and should take 2–4 working days to arrive after dispatch. I’m generally able to dispatch orders within two working days of receiving them, but if I’m away from home, books will not be signed and dispatched until my return. If you place an order while I’m away for more than a week, you should receive an email telling you when the order will be dispatched and giving you the option to cancel and receive a full refund.
